Syracuse head coach Dino Babers on Saturday added his 19th class of 2017 commit in Chris Elmore.

Class of 2017 defensive tackle Chris Elmore has committed to Syracuse, he announced Saturday evening via Twitter.

The 6-foot-1, 260-pound Chicago native could also play as fullback and tight end for the Orange. Elmore, ranked with three stars by major recruiting services, chose SU over offers from Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Buffalo and Miami (Ohio). As a junior at Phillips Academy (Illinois) in 2015, Elmore had 146 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and 11 sacks, per his Hudl.com profile.

He visited Syracuse on his official visit this weekend before committing with less than two weeks until National Signing Day (Feb. 1).

Elmore had committed to Western Michigan under then-head coach P.J. Fleck. When Fleck was hired by Minnesota on Jan. 6, Elmore reopened his recruitment. He committed to Syracuse two weeks later.

Elmore is Syracuse’s 19th commit in the 2017 class. Track the rest of the class here.
